General questions

• Do I really need Idea Informer?

If you take care of your website development and want to improve it, then Idea Informer can really contribute into your project. It will provide you with fresh ideas from your website users and help make you project user friendly. If you want to hear what people think of your project, then yes, you really need Idea Informer.

• Can I get access to any statistics on my Idea Informer account?

We are currently working on providing users with analytic data. It’ll come soon.

• I want to create an account on Idea Informer but I need some very specific features. Can we discuss a possibility of an individual project creation?

You can add your customization idea via our widget on http://idea.informer.com/ and we’ll respond ASAP. Otherwise you are always welcome to contact us by e-mail idea@informer.com<br /> <br />

• How much does it cost to create a new project on Idea Informer?

It is absolutely free.

• Have you got any versions in other languages?

Several language localizations of Idea Informer are available. Your projects can be in English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Danish, Dutch, Polish or Bulgarian.<br /> <br /> In order to change the language of your project please do the following:<br /> - Sign in<br /> - Go to your project settings<br /> - Select the language you need in the Basic features tab<br /> - Don't forget to save the settings!<br /> <br /> Please note, that you'll need to update the code of your widget. In order to do it please select 'Save and continue' at the Widget tab of your settings, and then press Save again. Copy the new widget code and add it to your website instead of the old one.<br /> <br /> Also we have a Russian version of the service, which can be found here http://reformal.ru/. <br />

Project creation & configuration

• How do I customize my project's page design?

To change your project's design you should sign in. At project's settings dashboard choose Logo and design tab. You can upload your logo or website image and customize page colors and design there. Classic orange and white design is set by default and operates for all projects on idea.informer.com domain. If you want the project's page look in a different way, you should transfer it on your website domain. To redirect project's page go to Domain tab.

• Can I delete a project?

Users can only suspend their projects. A suspended project won't be visible to other Idea Informer users and you'll be able to resume it at any moment. If you want to delete a project completely, please write to idea@informer.com

• Can a project be managed by two or more people?

Creator of the project can give other Idea Informer users rights to manage the project. Managers cannot change any settings and in fact only moderate ideas and comments.

• Can I moderate ideas and comments?

There are three moderation modes. Pre-moderation – users' ideas aren't published without your approval. Post-moderation – creator of the project and managers can review and moderate ideas after their publication. And the third mode is No moderation.

• I have problems with my project's verification.

Some content management systems or/and web-hosting companies does not support this verification method. In case of any problems just ask our team to help - idea@informer.com.

• Can I change my profile settings?

To change your profile settings you should sign in and choose My profile -> Settings on the dashboard in the upper right corner of the page. Or you can use a Settings button near your username on the top of the page.

• Can I change my project settings?

To change your project settings you should sign in and click Settings button near the project title.

• How do I avoid repeated ideas?

Creator of the projects and managers can combine two more or less similar ideas in one. You can do that just at the project's page clicking Moderation button near each idea.

• I’ve signed up an account on idea.informer.com. How many projects can I create?

The number of projects that can be started by an account owner is unlimited. With Idea Informer you have an opportunity to improve as many websites as you want/have.

Idea.Informer widgets

• I’ve created an account on Idea Informer, but I don’t get the point of setting up a widget on my website. Why do I need it?

An Idea Informer widget is the easiest way to inform your website visitors that you really need their feedback. Moreover, if you install a tab or HTML widget, you won’t need to redirect your users to the Idea Informer page all the time. They’ll be able to see the most popular ideas right inside a widget on your website. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />

• How can I install a widget?

Idea Informer widgets are the typical web widgets that can be easily installed. All you need to do is to get a JavaScript code from your project's settings (Widgets tab) and add it to your website.<br /> How can I let people know that I’ve got an account on Idea Informer and want to receive their ideas?<br /> We provide you with several options: <br /> 1) you can install an Idea Informer tab (standard). See how it looks on our main page http://idea.informer.com/<br /> 2) you can redirect your users to your Idea Informer account via a text link <br /> 3) you can install an HTML widget on your website. <br /> All the options are generated in a Widget tab in your project’s settings. <br /> Each of these options can be customized with color/font/title etc settings.<br />
